Interactive Drum Lessons
for All Levels

At the initial lesson a comprehensive assessment will be completed to identify the level of student proficiency. The student will start as a beginner, intermediate, or advanced drummer.  An
evidence- based curriculum developed by Timothy will be individually tailored to
meet the needs and goals of each drummer. 

Beginner Drum

Goals

  • Establish solid foundation in technique and coordination

  • Understand basic music theory and rudiments

  • Maintain steady tempo with a metronome.

Core Competencies

  • Technique: Basic grip, posture, strokes

  • Music Theory: Note values, time signatures

  • Rudiments: Single, double, paradiddle, flam

  • Coordination: Basic grooves, 2-limb independence, simple rock beats

  • Tempo: Metronome basics, 60–80 BPM

Intermediate Drum

Goals

  • Develop fluency in grooves and reading.

  • Expand rudiment vocabulary and coordination.

  • Play confidently at various tempos.

Core Competencies

  • Technique: Moeller intro, ghost notes

  • Music Theory: 16th notes, dotted rhythms

  • Rudiments: Paradiddle-diddle, flam tap, drag

  • Coordination: Funk grooves, 4-limb independence

  • Tempo: Subdivisions, tempo flexibility

Advanced Drum

Goals

  • Master advanced rhythmic concepts and independence.

  • Apply rudiments creatively across the full kit.

  • Internalize time and adapt to various musical contexts.

 

Core Competencies

  • Technique: Full Moeller, finger control

  • Music Theory: Polyrhythms, odd-time

  • Rudiments: PAS 40 mastery + hybrids

  • Coordination: Advanced 4-limb, soloing

  • Tempo: Wide range, subdivision switching
